THE INNER-FACE OF INNERSPACE Innerspace is a Primary Healthcare Service for people who have previously or are currently injecting drugs. Innerspace utilises a holistic approach to staying safe and healthy, providing a range of medical, clinical and welfare supports and services; including our Art Therapy program. This Art Therapy project worked with individuals in all stages of their drug use. It allowed for the exploration of self expression which resulted in the empowerment of the individual. The individual artists feel that the direct impact of a non-judgemental and encouraging environment can change lives and hearts. The Inner-face of Innerspace demonstrates that these artists have a Talent to share, a Story to tell and a Message to send. This is what we want to share with you – the inside stories, the compelling insights shared by those most often hidden in our world. They demonstrate a level of humanity as rich and diverse as any community. The exhibition will include a variety of paintings, drawings and sculptures, all produced at Innerspace. Plaster-cast masks will greet you as you enter. . . |
