BACK GALLERY

PAPER GRAVEYARD by GOLDENGRAVES

My bedroom is a paper graveyard, filled with paper and prints that have long laid dormant.
I’ve breathed life back into these works, in the form of Collage. In this resurrection they have evolved into new art and hold purpose again.
I feel as an artist we should keep evolving, so that we ourselves do not become dull and dormant.

SIDE GALLERY

DELAY by KIM WINTON

Delay is a series of graphite drawings based on observations of tiny pieces of the Mounionalusta Meteorite. Fragments of the meteorite are billions of years old. On their surfaces, one can see the unique Widmanstatten patterns which are marks etched throughout the meteor’s entire structure
as it cooled over millions of years in outer space. The artist has developed these drawings as
an invitation for her viewers to meditate on
our senses of mortality, the duration of the development of the natural world and our living relationship with the experience of time.

UPSTAIRS GALLERY

EDIFICE by JULIA SCHMITT

‘Edifice’ is a collection of works representing the heart and soul behind the facades of Melbourne and surrounds. Using just ballpoint pen on paper
I hope to make the personality and quirk of Melbourne’s inner north become the focus of
each piece. A mix of the iconic and every day,
each drawing aims to convey a sense of place
not often explored through this medium.
