NOURISHED
by Kylie Sirett

As an artist, Kylie Sirett draws inspiration for her intimate still life works from her immediate surroundings. Using readily available produce, Kylie attempts to capture the beauty and her appreciation of what’s around us everyday. In this series of oil paintings, Kylie draws attention to light and its effect on surfaces and textures.

Using a combination of carefully selected natural forms and vintage kitchenalia, Kylie’s strong compositions highlight not only their aesthetic beauty through colour, form and light, but force the viewer to see things from a different perspective, creating food for thought and seeing beauty in the everyday.

‘Untitled’ is a selection of abstract works completed in 2018. Inspired by the rollercoaster ride that is becoming a new Mum. Each day is a new wave to ride and these works reflect that.

SENSE

Sense is a collection of works exploring the rhythms, perceptions and interactions with nature.

Through a series of illustrative, abstracted pieces, the natural world is juxtaposed against human interactions.

The works represent visceral reactions to the sounds of nature - wings in the night, the rustle of feathers or the prickle of small feet.  They offer a lens highlighting our, at times, conflicted relationship with our surrounds.
