FRONT & BACK GALLERIES
BITS & PIECES
by The Arts Hole
The Arts Hole is a multi-disciplinary studio nested above a bakery in the leafy suburb of Caulfield. At first entrance an instant hit of colour and shapes of makeshift architecture absorb all vision. After adjusting the eyes, you are able to identify the multiple creative practices that inhabit the space. 'Bits & Pieces’ is a showcase of what’s made and everything in between that makes the Arts Hole.

UPSTAIRS GALLERY
TODAY
by Kate Gagliardi
This body of work explores the possibilities of a pared back selection of materials within the one format. Recent studies have focused on intimate sketchbook drawings, moving between detailed accuracy and intuitive scribble. This has inspired a new series of work where I strive to translate this layered, mark making monologue onto larger scaled works, keeping this instinctual and loose aesthetic. These portraits begin to speak of the figures internal monologues; exterior expressions of their interior implosions.
Kate Gagliardi is an artist and freelance illustrator, living and working in Naarm.
