by Leonie Rhodes

Leonie is a Trans-disciplinary artist. This exhibition brings their Street and studio practices into focus. Leonie is influenced by the history of art, graffiti, and underground culture. They explore issues of identity and marginalization in urban space. Their work has a therapeutic, political and ecological sensibility across mediums, with an awareness to the intersectional, archetypal and symbolic systems at play in public space. Leonie is deeply committed to the skills, materials and making processes central to their figurative street artworks, this is an opportunity to view these pieces in an intimate indoor setting.

BREATH
by Kimberley Liddle

‘Breath’ is part of my ongoing exploration into humankind’s relationship with the natural environment. I feel with the increasing popularity in virtual worlds, there is a growing disconnection between us and the natural world.

My practice utilises photography for its ability to document various species of flora and is then combined with sculpture. Through this explorative technique, the sculptures at first glance appear as a realistic representation of the subject. However, on closer inspection the mosaic inspired surface is aimed to challenge the reality in which we view our world.

HOW’S LIFE WITHOUT ME?
by Mary Asi

As I unwind myself into my art, I have packed and unpacked the concept of heart break. I want to express my journey and stop shadowing the reality of misery. I’ve always believed that art is something the eyes translate to the heart, and that is what I want to mirror in my work. These simplistic yet visually informative drawings coincide with personal growth and progress, illuminating my testimony of heavy on the eyes and heart. I soon after engendered this notion in my head, that what and how I drew was how everything really is; flawed.

UPSTAIRS GALLERY

MIЯROR
by AUDE

These drawings give me the opportunity to personify emotions or stories, highlighting a feeling or releasing an obsession. I worked between worlds: realism and surrealism, childhood and adulthood, dark and light. To achieve that, the realistic portraits are enriched with elements from real life, nature, personal interest combined in a surrealistic composition.  Still exploring, I see this show as a reflection, a mirror of emotions.
