VIRTUAL TOUR

Everything that can be seen can be broken down into shapes and colours. My paintings and drawings break down the visual and simplify it into shapes then fragmenting and merging them to produce an abstract image.
Everything used can be broken down to the materials used to make it. I have collected discarded items found on the side of the road and used them as a painting surface bringing attention the role each item may have played during its lifetime.

WHAT'S INSIDE A GIRL?
by Ruby Knight

CATALOGUE

‘What’s inside A Girl?’ looks at moments of hedonism, pleasure and empowerment in ones body. The scenes depict women in imagined interiors, misking in between moments of contemplation and fun, while surrounded by friends. These unconventional figures love dancing at parties, and the moments of stillness as they decompress from the night before.
While they lounge on the couch, there is a normality to their comfort, as they remain in a haven of their own making, enjoying basic pleasures.

VIRTUAL TOUR

From working constantly pre-COVID, to staying at home indefinitely, my mood travels to many places. The lockdowns revealed itself to be an enigma of the mind that materialized itself in the form of happiness, dissociation, sadness, boredom and recollection of past memories. This series of artworks represents my ever changing state of mind during this unprecedented time.
