FRONT GALLERY THERE IS NO ARRIVING There Is No Arriving developed during Melbourne’s stage 4 lockdown in 2020. During this period of isolation, Mitchell’s work became accentuated by the tension and paranoia created from the enduring unpredictability of each day. Anxiety, uncertainty and vulnerability are driving themes within this series, influenced by the unfolding Covid crisis engulfing the world. Existing within a landscape of temporal layers, where mind and body are constantly sculpted by the flow of causality, There Is No Arriving is a confluence of one's physical and psychological space.

BACK GALLERY THANK YOU FOR DINNER Thank You for Dinner is a study of abundance — a time to honor the fruits of our labors and the fruits we are able to labor with. This is a reminder of the romance that exists in the daily collaboration between us and the sustenance that is the natural world. This meal is beautiful, I feel love at this table with you.

SIDE GALLERY INNER LANDSCAPE Inspired by the metaphor of an “inner garden” by author Emily Nagoski - this exhibition aims to explore Ruby Bovill’s ‘Inner Landscape’. ‘On the day you’re born, you’re given a little plot of rich and fertile soil… your family and your culture… plant language and attitudes and knowledge about love and safety and bodies and pleasure… and you didn’t choose any of that… [but] as you transition through adolescence…you’ll take on full responsibility for its care.’ - Nagoski Ruby is interested in how images reflect the inner self. This exhibition explores the concept that we all have a unique garden within, created by our culture, family and environment. These paintings aim to be light, joyous and playful encouraging the viewer to imagine their own unique ‘Inner Landscape’.

UPSTAIRS GALLERY PLANT DRAWINGS CATALOGUE Katie uses drawing to connect to nature. The foundation of the exhibited works was an extended period of drawing in the Melbourne Royal Botanic Gardens. Katie would bring to the gardens her drawing materials and sit on the grass for hours and draw. "Plant Drawings" was completed in 2021, after a 5 year period of drawing plants.
