SPRING DAYS GROUP SHOW
Spring Days is the long-awaited group show at Off the Kerb due to lockdown 6 and the adversity of the Covid-19 pandemic.
We are pleased to finally host this show to symbolise our resilience as we come out of recent challenges and embrace brighter times ahead.
The season of spring symbolizes rebirth, rejuvenation and renewal. In the natural environment, plants begin growth anew
after the dormancy of winter. Animals come out of their winter dormancy and begin their nesting and reproducing activities.
In the history of art, spring is represented in its effervescence through vibrant colour, passionate emotion and deep
symbolism -as in the case of Botticelli’s ‘La Primavera’.
In Philosophy and Literature spring has been referred to love, hope, youth, renewal, and growth. The Nobel Prize-winning
poet-diplomat and politician Pablo Neruda echoed these sentiments in his famous comment, “You can cut all the flowers,
but you cannot keep spring from coming.”
Spring Days exhibits a collection of creative responses from Melbourne's finest artists!
