INTERIOR PERCEPTIONS
by Georgia Pricone, Madeleine Palmer &
Karima Baadilla

CATALOGUE

Interior Perceptions is an exhibition, which shows a collection of paintings that pay homage to the tradition of still life painting in Australia. This exhibition brings together three Melbourne based painters with a shared focus on floral and still life encounters. It celebrates the artists’ different ways of working as painters whilst echoing their shared reflection of notions of daily life and the beauty to be found in the mundane. These works evolve as a reverberation of the past two years as we strive to seek beauty in our stagnant environments. In bringing these practices together, they aim to highlight the potential for reclaiming still life within the contemporary vernacular.

EVERYTHING ENDS, EVERYTHING IS REBORN
by Naomi Waller

CATALOGUE

In that moment everything familiar became foreign. My feet knew where to take me as I walked through the streets, but I no longer recognised the landscape around me. Up ahead I know to take a right and then a left, but I've never seen these buildings before. I know I'm awake, but I feel like I'm dreaming.

MY THOUGHTS HAVE THOUGHTS HAVE THOUGHTS THAT HAVE THOUGHTS
by Sarah Catania

CATALOGUE

In this exhibition, I use my own personal experiences to explore intrusive and obsessive thoughts and the influence they have over emotion. Utilising the repetition of printmaking and the action of sewing, I aim to give a visual representation to mental processes that do not have a visual dialogue, thoughts, and emotion.  I hope to use my own experiences to invite the audience to reflect on themselves, their mental state and to contribute towards the growing conversation around mental health.
