FRONT & BACK GALLERIES

WEDNESDAYS: EN PLEIN AIR
by Richard Collins, David Tatnall & Jane Mullett

CATALOGUE

Three artists go out every Wednesday into nature around Melbourne to paint, draw and photograph together, whatever the weather. This exhibition presents their work.
It is a tribute to the natural world around Melbourne; to parks, reserves and conservation areas. It celebrates the observed landscape - our vulnerable natural environment - and draws on the traditions of painting and photography while being resolutely contemporary. It rejoices in friendship, discussion and the act of making.

LIFE AFTER HEAVEN
by Sunny Nijssen

CATALOGUE

This exhibition features a selection of photographic works from my forthcoming photobook Life After Heaven

Life After Heaven is a body of work that reflects my time in Singapore from 2015 to 2021. I see street photography as an avenue of curiosity that by extension can provide a unique insight into how different societies or cultures work or don’t work.  It is this curiosity that has influenced my project and subsequent interest in discovering true representations of the Singaporean way of life.

HARMONY & RHYTHM
by Otto Macpherson

CATALOGUE

Expressed through oil painting, printmaking and scratchboards, Harmony & Rhythm explores patterns and movement found in landscapes as well as those observed within myself. With the use of harmonious colours and gestural mark making influenced by my surroundings, I aim to capture the rhythm of and an emotive response to a place and time.
