FRONT GALLERY SILENT STAGE After rediscovering my love of painting in my late 30s, I spent time exploring new techniques. I found that working quickly, instinctively, and without rework produced satisfying results. After choosing the subject matter for the work, I could now execute with freedom. This method paired well the dominant subject matter seen in this debut exhibition, quiet interior and exterior scenes from the past and present.

BACK GALLERY PATTERN RECOGNITION Shot throughout the course of the monotonous day-to-day and casting aside preconceptions of subject matter, Pattern Recognition invites the viewer to bear witness to the prosaic nature of 21st century life. Of a world more connected than at any point in history and yet, ironically, more divided than ever. Of the competitive, lightning pace at which we are ever increasingly asked to live our lives and the impermanent and, often, vacuous ways our self-expression manifests itself. .

SIDE GALLERY FORM, FORMAT Flicking a thumb through a corner; pulling a spine from a shelf; picking one up and chucking it in the bottom of a backpack: Form, Format is a collection of still lives, devoid of any context greater than a shadow. These works encourage the viewer to examine their own relationship with the objects presented, to feel the weight of their imagined presence and to appreciate the beauty within the everyday.

UPSTAIRS GALLERY PERMANENT SOCIETY Permanent Society is an exploration of the idea of language as a form of communication that transcends time and place. I capture random words, pieces of text, and signs found in various locations around the world, creating a visual narrative removed from their original context. Each image invites the viewer to consider the broader cultural, historical, and social significance of these messages seemingly sent as commandments by an omnipotent god or left behind by a lost civilization.
