DOG ALMIGHTY
by Chris Vernon

CATALOGUE

Without planning it, drawing dogs became a passion. It all began with the arrival of Moss, a charismatic and troubled black Labrador. Whenever I was staring at a blank canvas, Moss was there. As the reality of owning a rescue dog dawned upon me, my days were filled with both joy and unpredictable chaos. As I watched dogs interact in the park, I imagined them in vibrant and tumultuous worlds. Within these canvases, dogs are the heroes (or villains) – Dog bless.

THOU DOST BLEED
by Ruby Quail

Thou Dost Bleed is an interactive discursive work that aims to critique a focus on suffering as a key signifier of womanhood, in particular the pain of menstruation and childbirth. These signifiers have often been wielded against trans femme's identity by radical feminist groups, but also by centring these particular experiences as central to womanhood, the experiences of all trans people are minimised and erased.

BLOW UP
by Aoife Billings

CATALOGUE

In her debut solo exhibition ‘Blow Up’, Aoife Billings investigates patterns of build-up and release - of anger, stress, sadness, and sexual tension. Exploring the rub and the prickle of intense emotional displays, Aoife uses ceramic sculpture, oil painting and water features to hone in on the pleasure of expression, and the discomfort of bearing witness.

TEXTURAL MEMORY
by Isabella Hayes

CATALOGUE

'Textural Memory' is a series of works made predominantly using plasticine on canvas-board. Through Plasticine's tactile materiality, my fingerprints weave memory, time, and space, giving my dreamlike works palpable, fleshy reality. Watercolour and crayons are also used. Joyful play is important to me in my making, so I found myself leaning back towards materials I loved as a kid. A chronic daydreamer, these pieces are steeped in introspection and contemplation, with fantasy stepping over the threshold of the everyday.
