DREAMSCAPE OFF THE KERB’S 17th ANNIVERSARY GROUP SHOW Off the Kerb gallery is turning 17! And to celebrate our seventeenth year in the arts, we would like to invite you in celebrating our artist community in this new group show, Dreamscape. Dreamscape refers to the other-worldly, of surreal landscapes or altered reality. It refers to celestial realms. Dreamscape also refers to your sacred spaces where you escape for respite or sanctuary from reality, mundane or daily struggle. Philiosphy speaks of dreamscapes as a gateway to uncharted territories of thought and emotion; the depths of human consciousness or simply an escape from reality. In the history of art, in almost every art movement, dreamscape was represented in one way or the other, as imaginary realism, a fantasy world, or the absurd. Examples include Lorenzo Lotto, Hieronymous Bosch, Leonora Carrington and Salvador Dali.
