MOBILE REBELLION
curated by Constance Hunter

CATALOGUE

No matter how busy, artists continually find ways to express our creativity. While running for the tram, in the break room at work, or weeding the garden, we take time to capture moments and tableaus that speak to us. We practise these ‘small acts of rebellion’, refusing at least momentarily to let life's busywork take precedence.
This group show highlights and celebrates these moments. All of these works are pictures taken on our mobile phones that have never been published, displayed, used in our art, or used as reference. Now they are pulled into focus.

This project is funded by the City of Yarra sustainability grant.

FUCHSIA FANTASY
by Ella Heckendorf

CATALOGUE

Fuchsia Fantasy is the culmination of colourful daydreams had over the course of several years. Allow yourself to fall into a world of endless colour, guiding you through a labyrinth of sugary hues, whimsical imagery and playful abstractions. Within each piece exists a doorway to an imagined realm of magical motifs and visions of nostalgia. Ella Heckendorf's desire for this exhibition is that her work may enchant her audience with a sense of lightness and joy as colour dances seamlessly from piece to piece.
