FRONT GALLERY

QUIET PATH
by Shawn Lu

Quiet Path explores the contrast between the idyllic landscape and its surrounding neglect.
Burnt out cars, broken houses and the encroaching flora suggest a setting for contemporary folk-lore, and remind the viewer that nothing is certain. Romanticism, tragedy, and an awareness of one’s mortality influence the narrative within the works, which are created through a detailed and immersive approach to pen and ink drawings on paper.

ON THE ROAD
by Rebecca Armstrong

The works in ‘On the Road’ look closely at the fragile and beautiful cycle of life and death. A process that is both simple and mysterious to us. My works mimic physical processes of the material world while also holding space for metaphysical concepts of mortality and fragility. I hope to create a deep reflection for the viewer through bodies that move from abstract blurs into grotesque detail. These works are a meditation, slow in creation and slow in destruction.
