Shini Pararajasingham Founding Director
Shini Pararajasingham is the Founder and Director of Off the Kerb Gallery since 2007. Her role is in the strategic direction of the gallery and the design, curation and artistic direction of exhibitions that contribute to a dynamic and innovative arts sector in Melbourne, Australia.
Shini has a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Monash University (2003) and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and Business Marketing at Monash University (1998).
Since completing her BFA, Shini has been a finalist in the prestigious, “John Leslie Art Prize”, "Toyota Community Spirit Award" and "She Series Award" at Walker Street Gallery. During her Fine Art studies at Monash University, Shini was a recipient of the "Prato Italy Travelling Scholarship" in 2002.
Shini has been a panel judge at the Victorian College of the Arts Awards as well as the Abbotsford Convent Collaborative Award. Shini presented to City of Ballarat Arts and Culture exploring the making, managing & sustaining of community art spaces and practice. Shini has been a recipient of a number of local council grants over the years for curatorial projects.
Shini Pararajasingham has been commissioned by the City of Yarra to engage and manage artists for a number of street art murals. She is on the Room to Create Advisory Panel of City of Yarra – a program that aims to keep the arts in Yarra by supporting artists and arts organizations and brokering more affordable and sustainable creative spaces. Her role on this panel includes grants assessments.
Shini Pararajasingham has exhibited internationally in Vienna, Austria, Prator, Italy and Colombo, Sri Lanka. She continued to exhibit in exhibitions in Melbourne, Australia.
