'Late Bloom' is a debut body of work by Inkboy and Carla Scotto, featuring floral works in differing styles. These two artists probably should have done their own exhibits a long time ago, hence 'Late Bloom'.
Inkboy's pieces are boldly painted renditions of his character designs that have been brightening the digital sphere for years. Carla's native floral pieces are reminiscent of the stained glass windows you'd see in holy spaces, asking you to perceive nature as something sacred.

Once you step outside the ordinary rhythm of life everything changes, everything is up for evaluation, everything must find a new way of existing. Things that were long established are found to have suddenly grown old and tired. Who you were is not who you are, and not who you will be. All you have is a new perspective and raw opportunity. What you do next is entirely up to you.

NEGOTIATE THIS

The labyrinthine landscapes and dizzying mazes in this exhibition visualise my queer awakening while navigating the heteronormative spaces we inhabit. Real and imagined locations blur evoking the sense of disorientation that arises as queer people manoeuvre through oppressive structures to find comfort, safety, and community. The motif of the street directory offers hope that there is a way through, revealing a destination that is deeply personal, and immensely pure.
