FLAVOURS OF LEISURE

Much of the work for this series began through wandering and observing. Being open to interpreting the hidden meaning or history of seemingly innocuous scenes.
I like to immerse myself in the function of contemplation, to find beauty in the ordinary.
Inspiration can arise from a particular light or shadow, evoking positive feelings or memories of past events, places or experiences.
The goal is for these paintings to encourage a leisurely stroll through the realms of introspection and relaxation.

What happens when everything falls apart? When fear takes hold of you?
When it seems there is no choice but to jump? It's not easy to get to the other side of the world with only a bag on your back.
New place, new people, different language, different culture.

'Life is a series of accidents' is a small sample of all the things that needed to happen so that I could be here today presenting my creative work.

A series of events that changed my life and the way I adapted. A series of abstract paintings and drawings that start the creative process: a process of destruction to build a new language.

In 2024 International Women’s Day is themed around the slogan #INSPIREINCLUSION

Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality. Collectively we can all #InspireInclusion.

We celebrate women’s achievement: raise awareness about discrimination: take action to drive gender parity. IWD belongs to everyone, everywhere.

ABSTRACT NARRATIVE

CATALOGUE

The artist invites the viewer to meet whimsical characters travelling through a serene eucalyptus forest. Imagine their adventures as you walk with them. See what joy they found.

These subtle artworks emerge from a process that begins with walking in nature to collect lomandra longifolia (basket grass) and eucalypt leaves. They evolve into characters, jewellery, or ephemeral scribbles. Woven abstract sculptures and leaves are rolled through a printing press to emboss the paper, occasionally staining with natural pigments.
